Do we have any technology that gives a machine functionality of Android phone with SMS

I know iQsim and movirtu but their architectures are not really clear and thorough. Of course we can install android OS on a machine but to send/receive REAL SMS and phone call are not possible, I'd like to provide a machine some thing like virtual SIM. Is that even possible?
